The heartbeat of Betko

In the beginning of May we celebrated Workers’ Day and it reminded us once again that it takes a team of dedicated individuals to strive to continually improve, be the best in what we do and to create a unique and positive environment, from start to finish. Betko employs around 350 local staff members at our facilities in Villiersdorp. We place high value on long-term relationships and are proud that a significant portion of our staff has been part of our team for twenty years and more.

For a company to not only survive but thrive, it needs to have a heart, a true sense of what it is, what it does and what it cares about. At Betko our company values are extremely important to us and as a family business they fit naturally into our family model.

We know good people are the cornerstone of our shared success. Whether we’re picking or thinning apples and pears in the orchards, sorting and packing fruit in the packhouse, managing quality and compliance, attending to finance, accounting, HR, health and safety or logistics, or whether we’re marketing and selling our fruit all over the world, we’re united by our passion, commitment and drive to deliver premium fruit.

We also like to grow a positive and caring culture in our workplace and take a genuine interest in our people. Therefore we are committed to making a strong contribution to our immediate social environment and to giving back to our community. Betko is involved with several schools in and around Villiersdorp, with special emphasis on high school scholarships.

Our talented, dedicated team remains the heartbeat of Betko.
