This position offers an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team, based in Villiersdorp. It is ideally suited for a motivated, hard-working, and skilled Fitter who will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and assembling the structural components of various mechanical systems. In our packhouse environment, identifying the root cause of problems is paramount, and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing effective corrective actions. We are seeking an individual who is detail-oriented, focused, adept at interpreting drawings, proficient in safely using hand and power tools, and able to demonstrate adaptability to varying tasks and challenges.

Overview of responsibilities
• Scheduled maintenance of packhouse machinery and equipment.
• Maintenance of pumps, piping, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding work.
• Turning and milling work.
• Identifying causes of problems.
• Attending to breakdowns.
• Willingness to work overtime and be on standby when required on short notice.

Qualifications and experience
• Recognised Fitter & Turner trade test.
• N3 qualification is preferred.
• Mechanical background with experience in maintaining packhouse machinery and equipment.
• Practical experience in turning and milling.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
• 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English).
• Good communication skills.

This position offers an opportunity to join our team, based in Villiersdorp. The Water Plant Operator will be responsible for starting and stopping the plant, monitoring and reporting. Water treatment plants rely on plant operators to meet required daily production and quality targets. Operating pumps, valves and all equipment, reporting defective equipment, adhering to safety, environmental and health regulations and performing housekeeping are all core functions.

Overview of responsibilities

• Meet required production and quality targets with regard to maintenance operations of the plant.
• Effectively communicate alarms/issues affecting the plant’s production and quality.
• Set up plant as per required feed flows and recoveries to achieve optimum performance.
• Control and monitor performance of all equipment at the plant. Identify and report defective performance of equipment.
• Collect and test daily and weekly water samples, adjust equipment controls accordingly.
• Record and track plant and equipment operational data.
• Check and control all chemical dosing on the plant, adjust accordingly, identify and report defects in the dosing system.
• Identify and report plant equipment stock levels timeously to the procurement office, help offload received goods and arrange stock neatly in storeroom.
• Prepare for and execute CIPs and CEBs at the plant as per instructions and standards.
• Adhere to safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Adhere to all housekeeping standards at the plant and identify and report shortcomings in that regard.
• Clean the plant as per instructions.
• Assist in carrying out maintenance at plant level when required.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Water and Sanitation or similar qualification.
• Two years’ experience in water treatment processes and or similar operational fields.
• Appropriate training and certifications with respect to water treatment system operations.
• Computer literate and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite software.
• Attention to detail, troubleshooting skills for water treatment processes and basic maintenance on these systems (both mechanical and electrical).
• Knowledge and understanding of machinery and packhouse operations.
• Hardworking and able to function under pressure.
• Valid South African Code B driver’s licence.
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
